![]() ![]() Are you agreeing that, assuming the several issues with the stock fairing implementation ARE in fact addressed, the fairing system would be the proper means to address this problem? That's the way I'm seeing it - there's no reason to carry two separate systems to accomplish this particular effect when one can be extended to do it all. Then you say that the problem is the stock fairings need to be fixed. (also working correctly with say an orange rockoman fuel tank, a micro engine, and a standard 1.25m decoupler).Īlshain, you say that since the stock fairings suck, therefore they're not the answer. Top circle diameter = min(Diameterpart_above, diameter_engine)īottom circle diameter = min(Diameterpart_below, diameter_engine)Īnd there you have the two circles which give a perfect "streamline". Just make fairings be possible to be non cylindrical, but also (untopped) cone shape. I think there are a lot of strange combinations with these, which would also lead to unusual scenarios if the fairing is just set to the size of the decoupler. But that rule doesn't work when hooking decouplers to something like a quad coupler.Īlso, if it's the size of the decoupler, that still doesn't work for the case where the decoupler is bigger then the bottom of that fuel tank too. And with poor spelling.Well, I'd say it needs to be the maximum of the decoupler or the engine, because what happens if you put a smaller decoupler under the engine (or other part). The OP asked a question which was a valid, good question since the mission STILL doesn't very clearly explain what is needed, and instead of simply answering the question and providing helpful insight into how the game expects the player to play, your super awesome really amazing perfectly cool and incredibly reputable nice guy tried to make the OP look like an idiot. Yeah, except it was, indeed, a rude and ignorant response. You're only making yourself look more foolish. The only thing he actually said was that it was "self explanatory and obvious" OH MY GOD, call the police, I'm sure OP's feelings are destroyed, lol. His reputation around here is just fine, I'll have you know. Yeah, except the person you quoted is AoD_Lexandro, he's actually a pretty cool guy who somewhat regurarly answers questions here and his post wasn't even mean, or derogatory. it was just commentary on how rude, condescending and unhelpful someone had been to the OP, and how it didn't seem to me that there is any benefit to someone behaving that way when a person is asking for help in a game that's really, pretty confusing and frustrating until you put a couple dozen or more hours into it. Regardless, the point of my first comment on the post wasn't even really related to the mission. The original post was relevant to my inquiry, and the information I gleaned from the post was accurate enough that it helped me to successfully complete the mission. ![]() However, this mission and its requirements appear to be fairly unchanged. Originally posted by ֍ bouzsi ֍:Indeed, the game has gone through some changes. But I am genuinely grateful for you saying so, since that's what I was hoping to find when I came here looking for help with the game. I understand, now, that the test being required has to be done when all requirements are checked. I don't know what necro means in this context. you need to run the test when all markers are checked, you won't complete the contract just for having the part and being splashed down Or at least have a better reputation in the forums here for being helpful without being hateful. you might- this is gonna sound crazy- you might make. Instead of being condescending at patronizing, perhaps you could try gracious and friendly. I even get both checkmarks when I splash down, but then the contract isn't completed. I have been sitting here for about an hour, launch after launch, trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. It doesnt need to say "after", that should be self explanatory and obvious. You can't test a part "splased down" unless your actually splashed down (ie in the water). Your pic shows the mission requirements, "We want you to test the TT-38k Stack Decoupler splashed down at Kerbin" The issue you had was watching a video for a completely different contract and confusing it. Its the big white line near the top of the contract, you just missed it or misinterpreted it. ![]() Originally posted by AoD_lexandro:The contract tells you what you need to do. ![]()
